Scott is the co-founder of the nation’s first Farrier & DVM co-owned practice, where he combined his expertise inequine podiatry with a passion for veterinary medicine. After over a decade serving the equine community, he shifted his focus to small animal care and opened Rustburg Veterinary Clinic in June 2021.

At the clinic, Scott is known for his sense of humor, especially when insisting that large-breed dogs are just “tiny horses.” When he’s not taking orders from Chief—the clinic’s beloved canine Business Manager—Scott enjoys cavalry reenactments, traveling, and spending time with his horses.

“Chief”

Office Manager/ Head Dog

Chief was rescued by Scott in June 2022 at 3 years old and given a new chance at life. They now travel everywhere together. He loves meeting other dogs, cats, and especially new people. His most favorite thing in the world is to play fetch with his 10 inch “Jolly Ball” (a toy designed for horses) or take the large ball in his mouth and run by “booping” the horses at Scott’s farm.
